Posted: 31 October 2005
An Adelaide oil and gas company has been named by the prestigious “Forbes Asia” business journal as one of only 25 Australian companies to make the top 200 “Best Under a Billion” list of Asia ’s leading enterprises this year.
ASX-listed Beach Petroleum Limited — one of the largest independent oil producers in the Cooper Basin and about to produce its first offshore oil from southeastern Victoria — was named by Forbes in its special “Best Under A Billion” edition.
Only one other Australian oil and gas company, Tap Oil, made the list, awarded annually by Forbes for those companies in Asia with annual revenue under one billion dollars US, five year returns on capital of at least 5 per cent, sustained gains in sales and strong market momentum this year.
The naming of Beach by Forbes coincided with the release today of the Company’s latest quarterly results, for the three months to 30 September, 2005 — showing record gross revenue for the period of $24.9 million — a 75 per cent increase on the $14.3 million reported for the same period last year.
